This hostel is also called "Hotel Górski" (The Mountain Hotel) and is situated at the altitude of 1050 m a.s.l., under the Jaworzyna Krynicka peak in the Beskid Sądecki.
Construction work on the first hostel was completed in 1937. The facility has become a tourist attraction and has hosted such guests as Jan Kiepura or Princess Juliana, the future queen of the Netherlands, as well as pilots of the School of Eagles (Szkoła Orląt). In October 1944, the building was burned by German troops during the hunt for partisans.
In 1960, in place of the old hostel, a new one-storey building with 20 beds was erected, and the Mountain Tourism Cultural Centre was created in the tourist shelter. At present, the museum of PTTK is located there.
The last renovation took place in the years between 1993 and 1997. At that point, the standard of the hostel was significantly increased.
There is a gondola lift and several ski lifts nearby the shelter, and the total length of ski runs amounts to about 8 km (the longest is 2.6 km).
At present, there are 45 beds available in 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-person rooms with bathrooms. In winter, only stays with full board are possible. PTTK discounts are accepted, and there are additional discounts available for groups.
You can go on a coach trip, e.g. to Wieliczka, the Pieniny Mountains, the High Tatras in Slovakia or the Slovak Paradise. The hostel is prepared to host not only single travellers, but also school and summer camps, white and green schools, trainings or conferences. A professional Rope Park, paintball, bonfire with roasting lamb and feasts by the fireplace are additional attractions for larger groups.
